VOTE 4 DAVE LANE

Mesa Public Schools Governing Board

I will work hard to make Mesa Public Schools an even better place to learn & work. As a governing board member, I will examine all sides of issues & work with district administrators, other board members and district employees to further improve the learning and work environment of our district.

Dave first took office in January 2007. He and his wife have seven children, including four Mesa Public Schools graduates and two current students. Dave is a technician training instructor for Chapman Chevrolet in Tempe. He attended the University of California San Diego. He served as the chairman for the Mesa Citizens for Responsible Public Policy in support of the district's 2005 bond issue. He is active in the district with the Special Needs Parent Advisory Council, parent-teacher organizations and Mesa Parent Advocates for Quality Schools; and in the community with Boy Scouts of America, Mesa Community College Commission on Excellence in Education and Mesa Leadership Training and Development. Dave's term expires in December 2010, for this reason he is seeking re-election in the 2010 General Election.

There are very few things that are more essential to the continued vitality of our community,
state and nation than our public school system. The children that are in school today represent
our best and brightest hopes for the ongoing prosperity our great nation has enjoyed. It is
therefore important to ensure that Mesa Public Schools continues to be directed by a Governing
Board whose members share a vision of excellence for the education of the children in our community.
The needs of our children must be carefully balanced with the financial realities that currently
challenge our state and therefore our school district. As the current President of the Mesa Public
Schools Governing Board I am committed to use the resources available to our best ability. I
additionally will work to ensure that all children in our schools reach their full potential and the
needs of our staff and community are met. There is no simple solution to the challenges that face
schools today; it will take the continued efforts of the School Board and Administration to work
collaboratively to navigate these “Uncharted Waters”.

I look forward to the continued opportunity to serve the children
and community of Mesa Public Schools.
